I am originally from Prince George, British Columbia, and now residing in Montreal, Quebec. I hold a BA (hon) degree in history with a minor in women's studies. My upcoming research/volunteer work involves working with the McCord Museum in Montreal on its local Chinese-Canadian exhibits and sources. I recently signed on to embark on a 5-week community-development trip to Costa Rica with Youth Challenge International, which starts in July 2009. For the longest time, I believe that it is important for me as a young life-long learner to reach out to people and give back my time and energy to the community. I want to share my knowledge and skills with others and whole-heartedly listen to what other people have to say. After all, we do not live in an isolated world; we are all interconnected. In order for us to promote and see transformative and inspiring changes in society, we must work together to create new bodies of knowledge and embrace new ways of applying them. A toast to new beginnings and purposeful collaboration!
